Audiobook Production

My experience and training with Audiobook Production has taught me that the key elements of successful Audiobook Production are:

1

Incorporating the author's input about the subject matter, story and characters into the recording.

2

Preparing by reading and annotating the book.

3

Utilizing proofers, and audio editors to ensure the best possible quality and ACX standards.

4

Communicating the progress of the production of the book with the author/rightsholder.

5

Seeking the feedback and comments of the author/rightsholder on the final product and making final revisions to reflect those.

ABOUT ME

Narration Experience:  I have been involved in the production of over 30 audiobooks to ACX Standard.  My audiobook experience started after a small audiobook production house found me through my voice over work.  I continue to work with them to narrate audiobooks and have expanded to work with other publishers, and directly with authors.

Editing Skills: I have strong editing skills and am able to edit and master my own recordings to ACX standards, although I have a strong belief that the quality of the final product benefits from external proofing, mastering and editing by ears that don't belong to the voice!

Education: I have an ongoing commitment to learn from experienced audiobook narrators through coaching, courses and workshops, including courses through On The Mic Training (onthemictraining.com), and also by staying connected to the audiobook narration community.

Hobbies: I'm a big believer in work-life balance.  When I'm not in the Booth, my focus is on my family all my "B" activities:  Brewing, Biking, Boating, Baking
